1990 electraglide classic would not start has a new starter relay, locted a breaker near the relay and touched the post together and then the bike started.Does it sound like this breaker is the culprit.
Bearing mind that a bike that old may have some "alternative wiring solutions" present I would replace the breaker and go from there...will probably cure it.
Often with older bikes (especially FXRs it seems) what should happen and what actually works may be two different things.
All the lights and stuff would work until you hit the starter button, and then the load from the starter would create a high resistance at the breaker to keep it from starting. Changing out the breaker should fix it. The key word here is 'Fix". Let us know.
Oops! I should have said the key word is "should".
