Default Turn Signal Control Module?

I just ended up with a low mileage 94' FXSTC in a trade a couple of weeks ago, my original intentions were to clean it up and resale it. But on the way home with I kinda fell in love with the old girl. Somebody had put a set of elcheapo single element signal lights on the front, and had attempted to wire an equalizer, notice I said attempted, 'm going to go back with original style turnsignals (probably late model small ones). My problem is I have power at the switches, but cantget any power to the wires going to the lamps. Could it be that the P O could have toasted the module with the crappy wiring job? Any Ideas?

Activate each turn signal switch and check for voltage going into the module. If you are hot there it's the module. Good luck!

On a related story I thought my turn signal module had failed last season as it only worked when the bike sat and ignition switch was in "accesories" postion. I thought it was either the module or the ignition switch. Turned out to be the voltage regulator was dieing and putting out weak current causing the module not to work.

90-95 modules were never very good...and all you can get now are aftermarket replacements..which suck even worse. For half the price of an aftermarket copy of the Harley part....you can get a badlands module...or just wire in a car flasher and make the signals"push and hold" like the older bikes...for a couple of bucks

Maybe so and my OEM module on my '91 FLHS is still going strong and not missing a beat since I replaced the voltage regulator.

Ha! Hope I didn't just jinx it.

I looked at the Badlands module and liked it. Has anyone replaced theirs with the Badlands module? Does it just wire in with the old module in place or does the old one have to be bypassed? Got to get some signals on this thing to pass inspection.

You'll be replacing the existing one so cut that one out and run the wires to the new one. Badlands should provide a nice wiring diagram to show you where the wires go. I would totally remove the old one to avoid confusion in the future plus make room for the replacement unit.
