Default front brake caliper problem

97 heritage flstc- front caliper was making noise so I took it apart to clean. Looks like to piston seal has melted . There was a silicone looking material stuck to the pad where the piston hits. Piston isnt moving but it looks like the dust seal bulges out against the pad when I pull the brake lever. I think the piston has seized up. Would it be better to try a rebuild kit or just buy a new caliper? Anyone know of a good priced brake replacement? Goldline does rebuilds - anyone use them?

Get apart and rebuild if not a mess of corrosion.

Yes, rebuild it. If the caliper is not damaged it will work. If You have 2 calipers at front then rebuild both at the same time.
