Default evo oil pressure

When my lifters went out it also took out the oil pump. So I went with the S&S oil pump. Sence then the oil pressure 60# cold , 20# hot at an idle. Cold she would push oil out the push rod tubs if any more rpms then an idle. Called S&S tech and they told to mill out 50 thouands out of the pressure release valve cap to lessen the spring tension. Any way what a pain its been, but now I can start it cold {40#} Wish they would put that in their insulation instructions of the pump for the evo.

That kinda thing just sucks!!! Its like SE not telling you you have to open out the holes on the rocker platform so the valve springs don't bind when you fit SE heads....

That kind oil pressure on an EVO is unusual...I am sure S & S doesn't get many calls complaining of too much oil pressure. Mine is around 50# cold and maybe 2# at idle when hot with the S & S pump.
