1985/86 FX Seat Options
years ago I discovered that for my 1985 FXWG I could get any of the Mustang solo seats for 1965-84 FL/FX models and easily make them fit. Simply cut off the two forks from the front of the seat pan and use only the side brackets to bolt it to the frame. The Mustang solos use side brackets and well nuts that go in the frame tube, just in front of the upper shock mount. It works great, and you can use any of their matching rear passenger pads as well. You get a few more options for seats and you get to use them as solos or with the passenger pads when you need to.
