Default Older Electraglide Pricing

Just ran across a deal, offered by an acquantance.
1986 Electraglide Classic, bought from the original owner in late 1986. Has been mechanically maintained by an obsessive compulsive for.....get this the last 130,000 miles. I have known of this bike the whole time, has screaming eagle spec parts from the era and never had a jug off since. Runs like a champ but has developed a tranny issue. Cosmetically it isnt too bad for the year/mileage.
Here's the question, what is fair market value on this bike w/ that many miles?
Thanks in advance.

IMO: Top line would be $4-5K. A steal would be $1.5-2.5K. All depending on the area of the country you are located, and what is wrong with the transmission. Plus you would really want to own that particular bike. Lots of older EVO's out there.

Well I picked up mine back 2001 for $6500 but only with 18k, faded paint, poor running carb. Only trans issue was the finger release breaking, easy fix on the side of the road. Other than then that a fine running bike.

All depends on what you think a 25 y.o. bike might be worth? What's he's asking?

I bought mine 8/13/1986 for $9158.80, TTL out the door, with 2 T-shirts, shop manual and extended warranty.

Damn. I didn't even get one t-shirt in 1993. Let alone two of them.....

If paint rubber brakes etc are in good condition I'd have to say 6500 tops up here in the north, less dePending on compression and how bad the tranny problem is.

KBB in my zip is $5875...in excellent condition. 130k with trans problem would be $3500 in my book...Too many out there that need nothing to spend much on that one.

With the age and uncertain transmission problems.....it would have to be really cheap like $2000. Even then, I might still walk away.

Like others have said...there are many other bikes out there and there are awesome deals to be had. I would rather spend a little more and have a bike with zero problems.

He's asking $1500, my secondary thought is to buy it and part it out.... havent priced a used tranny yet either.
