I had a 6-Speed RevTech in my 97 as well. 6th gear always made a louder humming noise than all the other gears. Finally the noise went away one day, but it was replaced with the skidding sound of my back tire. The damn trans blew and locked my back end up while doing about 75 MPH.
After pulling teeth over at RevTech they finally coughed up a new trans for me. I put it in for about 500 miles but could never get comfortable with the haunting thoughts of my back wheel locking up again. So I sold it on eBay and put the OEM back in. Glad I kept it.

My six speed is awesome! Clicks right into gear and is super quiet. I am real hard on it and it just keeps working great.

I had a revtec 5 speed that self distructed also and ended up locking up my rear. Somehow it locked up in 2 gears at the same time and stripped teeth, locking the rear tire, and even cocked my rear wheel a bit. Stripped the adjusting bolts. There trannys are aweful.

That's serious business! If I would have had a car directly behind me I doubt that I'd be writing this today. I ran mine gently for about 15k miles before it blew & locked. It shifted great as well. Other than feeling 2 light tugs on the drive train about 2 seconds before going into a skid, there was no indication that things were going south real quick. Which is why I'll never buy anything Revtech again. I wonder if their 100" engines are Korean trash too?

Man, they're priced great. Let's hope it serves you well and you get mega-miles out of it. 100" has to pull that sled real well. Ideally I'd like to get the S&S 100" Smooth, but damn $$$.
A word of advice guys avoid anything Rev Tec that has to do with trannies or bigger inch motors if you do any serious riding the crap will not hold up everything I've ever dealt with from them has been marginal junk at best .
