An EVO, or block head is the motor that real bikes come with. The twin cam motor is the current motor, and is the motor preferred by most women of child bearing age.
Gotta agree with the praises for the Evo. It saved the MoCo's bacon, was a quantum leap in terms of performance and reliability compared to earlier engine designs while still retaining the true Harley experience in looks and feel.
My only gripe is with the leaking rocker box gaskets which is real common with this engine, but it's a pretty easy fix if you are half-way handy with a wrench and use some high-quality gaskets.
At the end of the day, I think this engine will be considered a hallmark in Harley history.
