Default Durable Shrink Tubing ??

Ok Please let me explain. 1997 EG The cover over the wires for the cam sensor was chewed all the heck. I mean chewed as in a mouse or rat ate on it. Add that to the cover is brittle as all get out, I worked me butt off cutting the cover off. I expected to find the wires for the sensor chewed and if not as brittle as the covering. Not the case. I took the time to work along each wire and feel for breaks inside the insulation (pulling on it as well). All 3 wires passed and no cracks in the insulation.
The only sheathing or tubing I can find locally is shrink tubing and it does not seem to be all that tuff, durable, abrasive resistant. Anyone know of a source or have an idea as to what to use? Do appreciate the help WP

Just use what you can find and that fits. Double up the shrink wrap if you can. Not that it matters, as the copper wire will break about an inch and a half below the cone anyway.

There is a type of heat shrink tubing made that is epoxy lined that will melt and harden. It won't get any more durable than this.

Heat shrink is pretty durable, just make sure you buy quality shrink, and not some from your local Walmart... The good stuff feels more like a rubber and when it heats up an epoxy. Or silicone melts on the ends and makes it water resistance as well... The cheep stuff will feel more like plastic

+1 on this,

The epoxy lined stuff is good when shrunken ( is that the word I'm looking for? ) it will form a tough and water tight seal. We use it exclusively now on our 4x4's when doing wiring.

If your unsure if it's epoxy coated squeeze it together between your fingers if it feels a bit tacky on the inside ( meaning it stuck together for a moment before going back in to shape ) thats the right ones.

One of our parts guys came up with heat shrink that is listed as abrasive resistant and chemical resistant to. He also got me a couple feet of the stuuf that has the glue in it I was told. Waiting on gaskets and a seal to start putting the bike back together Thank Y'all WP

Don't know for sure, but, believe they may be rated for temp extremes. Correct me if I'm mistaken, no offense taken. mho. Don't know if there is a standard for abrasion.
