Parts books are not always correct. It is also possible the parts guy just gave you the wrong parts. (That has happened to me way more than once.)

I have found it is always best to take in the old parts to avoid confusion.
Thats what is odd as I did take my old parts with me to the HD dealer. They looked like a deer in the headlights when I told them the parts did not fit. Guess I will have to go back up there. Could the newer models have the smaller sleeve like I took out? FYI the parts had to be ordered so not much luck matching them up.

No part numbers on the sleeve either ......

Do you have a good independent shop in your area?

A decent sized indy would probably have the parts you need (just make sure you take your old ones in).

Last year I had a hell of a time finding a transmission main seal for a 85 super glide. Dealer was no help but I found the part at an indy in the area.

Remember I said GOOD indy shop.

The easiest way to find one is go to your nearest biker bar and ask what is the best indy in the area for parts.

If you can't find one locally Bud's in Austin TX is great for parts.

The reason I say indy is because they work on all years of bikes and the dealer only works on bikes made in the last 15 years (at least around here)

Yeah, Bud's is good. Next time you're there, tell Harley Bob that Hess said Hi.

Got it, looks like along the years the trans was upgraded to a 94 model. I say upgraded as I hear the case is stronger....don't know.

Got it all back together with the exception of the clutch presure plate screws, can't find the torque spec for those. Still looking......after I find that I will just need to adjust the clutch and put back on the outer primary.

Thanks for all your help

If you are talking about the 4 bolts that go into the pressure plate then the torque settings are 6.5 - 8 ft lbs (have to tighten them in a crisscross pattern.
