Default 1992 fxlr.

Hi, my recently purchased 1992 fxlr would only fire on rear cylinder,i removed the spark plug from the front and it was flooded i have'nt had chanch to try again due to flat battery which is now on charge.
does anyone know what could cause the flooding? the previous owner said it happened before when the bike's been stood a while. also does anyone know the carb settings? mine has a 45mm mikuini carb,a 96ch (1600cc)conversion with a S&S Crank and Barrels. Elderbrock Performance rpm cylinder heads and camshaft.
the bike was bought and customised in Kuwait and came into the uk several years ago and has only done 9000miles.
thanks dave.

. Dave, I would first start by turning off the gas each time you park the bike, secondly, I would check float level and the needle/seat. Sounds like they may need to be replaced ,

Get a good quality petcock (like a Pingle) and get in the habit of turning it off when the bike will be sitting awhile.

Hi Dave, looks like a pair of new plugs are on the shopping list!

unless the ignition has been changed, the stock system has both plugs fire together ( so yes, a wasted spark on the cylinder which is not on the "power" stroke)

this may help with trouble shooting.
