So the wife think I'm freaking crazy becuase I ride into work when it's 28 degrees in the morning as long as the roads are dry and the afternoon forecast calls for sun. It will be 45 or so when I head out. I've been able to ride to work 8 or 10 times so far this year since the winter has been so mild. Judging by the other 10-12 bikes in the parking lot I know I'm not the only crazy one.
The bike seems to absolutley love this cooler weather. It might just be my imagination, but does anyone else notice a feeling of more power and smoothness when it's cool?
Oh yeah. The Road King loves the cold weather. I had some kind of loud tapping last summer that I never hear when it's cold out. 28 degrees is business as usual for me.
I just pulled in the garage, 39deg. Colder air means more oxygen per unit of air which equals leaner mixture. My bike likes the cold, it even starts pretty good, I do get about one carb fart per day-something I don't get in warm weather.
