Default Wide glide question

Are the late 90's 41mm FXST and FXDWG front ends the same? From what I can find they are, but would like clarification.

Thanks

The triple trees are not the same on the Dyna and Softails. So they don't just bolt from one to the other.

If you look at my signature pic you will see the passing lamps that clamp onto the tubes, they are a Harley kit. When I bought them they had two listed, 41mm for FX softails and 39mm for FXDWG's...I don't remember the model years for each...

I believe 41mm FXDWG trees have 3 degree"s of rake in them .

Is this correct?

I believed it was 39mm tubes for FXD and Sportsters ( same front end ) and 41mm for FXDWG?

Also, was talking to a buddy ( has the exact same bike as mine, year, colour, everything ) and he has switched to a wide glide front end and added some rake. Is it nessisary to add rake when switching to a wide glide or can I leave it at zero rake? What are the Pro's and Con's to adding or leaving the rake?

Thanks in advance.
