Leave the jets that come in the carb alone to start, raise the needle one notch and be sure to break it in according to the instructions. Before you start it the first time pull the plugs, run a jumper to the solenoid impulse wire and turn the bike over for 10 seconds, wait to ensure the starter doesn't overheat and repeat as needed untill you have oil pressure. Then do it five more times. This will ensure all moving parts have lube on them. By using the jumper you do not have power to the ignition which can damage it without plugs being attached, you could also do this before you attach the power wire to the coil. If you have some lifter noise PM me and I will suggest an easy fix. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info I downloaded the manual. it told me to do that one time but i like the way you said to do it five time need oil to the top end before starting. As an auto tech i always prime a new engine before starting but this is my first bike engine. I did not know how long to get oil to the top.
