I Brought my bike to 2 different indy's ,after not being able to find squeeking, they could not find it either ,thought it was a heat shild or loose exauest ,after reading this, I went outside and checked jugs and rear jug has a very fine oil spot by rear jug fin and head
What's the average cost to have both head gaskets replaced on a 80' RK
I will do compression test tomorrow, but pulled both plugs and real clean and both are same (light tan) engine starts and runs fine ,but this squeeking almost like a fan belt
If you blow a head gasket be sure to measure the stud installed heights to ensure that one or more aren't pulling out. If it is and you don't check it you will be taking it apare sooner than you want to. Also don't forget whenever you take an engine apart it's like doing an autopsy, check each piece out as you remove it, Hope this helps.
sounds good ,will post results, 125# each cylinder?
That seems low. And quite frankly with your mileage, if the head gasket needs replacing, this is a great time to do a top end. How are you set for finances?
Also, squirt in about an ounce of motor oil in each cylinder and do the test over at least five revolutions and with throttle wot and choke/enrichment open.
