Default console insert

Hi.
I have a 1992 ultra classic that I am currently in the process of stripping down to more of a bare bones deal. I replaced the bark-o-lounger stock seat with a saddleman low profile unit and put on a lower dash panel extension to take up the gap between the console and the front of the seat. I removed all of the tour pack stuff as well. I removed the CB from the tank console but can't really find anything to go in the area the CB was in. I know the stock electraglide classics have some kind of black padded insert but was hoping to find something different. There was a place on e-bay where you could get stick on inserts but they seem to have vanished. Anybody ever heard of maybe a leather pouch style insert to go there or something? Also, I need replacement 4 inch fairing speakers. Any suggestions on cheapish replacement speakers? Thanks!

Evos have long gone as far as that sort of new accessory is concerned! My FLHS had a flat dull black panel, which I replaced with a factory 'custom' thick rounded glossy one, but I haven't seen such things for a long time. They were available in a wide variety of finishes and may be available, with luck, as NOS. But if you want something in leather you already have an excellent offer!

I've been thinking about contacting you to see if a heavy leather insert with a built in cell phone pouch is feasible. Kinda like the old cigarette cases with the fold over lid and twist closure, but with an open front so one could use the cell phone for GPS.

Default Just did the same thing...

I have a 1995 EG Ultra I did everything you are doing to it. I converted it to a 1995 Street Glide. I did buy a mirror finished dash insert on Ebay for cheap and it looks awesome. I tried to find a link to it just now but couldn't...I will continue to look and see because they had different varieties like carbon fiber, mirror etc. I will let you now what I find. I bought both J&M and Titan Hertz 4" speakers to go with my new Sony amplified head unit and just by sound comparison chose the J&M speakers. They were louder and had no distortion at loud level...the Titan Hertz distorted at higher volume. The biketronics kit is worth buying if you haven't already done so. You can use your hand radio controls...I just bought the module and saved by buying radio, speakers etc on other websites. I also put 1" lowering air shocks on the rear...awesome look. Good luck and I'll let you know what I find...

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I like the sound of a cell phone type pouch like gunslingertom is describing. I would definitely be interested in something like that, captain itch. I will check out the dealer for inserts and see if there's anything i like there. The ebay insert that woody0404 described was the way I was going to go but they aren't available now. Thanks again everybody!

For the speakers, I use JBL GTO427 speakers. They sound better than the OEM ones and fit.
