Worst case scenario, the bushing and bearing wear would be accelerated. Normal bushing wear slowly produces particles that are carried off, may or may not go through all of the engine and are eventually captured in the oil filter. When the wear is accelerated more goes through the engine in a shorter time, thereby accelerating engine damage.
Best case scenario the bushing wears slightly egg-shaped and works fine. We spend hours on the engines we build checking every possible thing you can imagine and lots that most people don't think of. Hope this helps.

First video is bike just cold and warming up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8UWj...eature=channel

the second video is on side of road after 20 minutes of running.

The wine only seems to appear when letting off the throttle when cruising in 5th gear, and between gears when letting off.
What do you guys think?

Definitely gear whine. If it were mine, I would change the cam gear to the next smaller size.

Sounds like gear whine to me. You can either live with it for a while and it will go away or change gears with your old cam.

Did yours sound louder than mine does now? I'm thinking I may just order an oem cover and bolt it on. I don't really have any money into this one other than the trade for my old aluminum cover and a seal.

Dan as I said to Texas I may just order a new oem cover and if that doesn't do it order a smaller gear. Any idea what one would be next smaller than stock?

Man to be honest I can't tell you if mine was louder or not as I can't hear it directly from your bike. I know mine was annoying as hell (I hated the whine) but like I said mechanics in the area just told me to ride it and it will go away w/in 5k miles. It did and I didn't worry about it any more.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I wouldn`t be too sure that a new oem cover will solve the problem, because the cover and bushing you have may very well be good.

The case may be that when you installed the cam, with the old cover and bushing, the bushing may have been worn, allowing the gears to run without being too tight.

Then you changed the cover and bushing, which is not worn and now the gears are too tight.

You can probably find out from HQ what size gear they use with their cams, and order the next size smaller, from them or from Harley. You could also check with the indy that reamed the bushing, he may have one.
