In prior post I mentioned doing some house cleaning items on my 93 Ultra and new slip on mufflers is one. HD's catalog shows a stock slip-on that supposedly does not have the restrictions of the original stock ones. Anyone have any experience with these or can recomend some. I would like to stay near stock and not get to radical with exhaust noise. Tx Lee
If you can still get the Screaming Eagle slipons they'll work good. And they have a nice sound.Thunderheader makes an exhaust forbaggers, butit's a 2-1 system. Unless you get the 'fake' left side (What's the point? It's fake. It's still 2-1, And more $$$)
I've got SuperTrapp slipons which have a disc system. The more discs you add, the more it 'free flows' (and gets louder). SuperTrap recommends starting with 8 discs, you can add up to 24 (with longer bolts). I've got 18 in my set, and it has a nice sound, although I'm thinking it's getting a bit too loud for my changing tastes.
The two best things you can do foryour EVO is ditch the air box and install a decentexhaust. Retune the carb and get ready for a cam change. Bam! 'New' Bike.
Depends on what you like on mufflers, and weather you want perfomance or sound.
I did find an HD dealer with evo & tc mufflers instock , I just pick up a pair for a 99 fxstc, I have these before. I am happy with sound. goto www.montcohd.com/secials
I alsopurchased there last set of SE perfomance mufflers for my 05 bagger, If you can fine them, they sound great # 65115-98b, Any way good luck, & ride safe
