If you want rich and deep, but not too loud, check out Khrome Werks. I had a set of their mufflers on my Slim and they sounded great. I did end up replacing them with a full system, though.
For $280, they are hard to beat. Rush mufflers are good too. A little louder than the Khrome Werks.
I have a 2013 Heritage and have Rush 1.75, but they're too loud for me, and I ordered the se shorty duals.
At sixty, I guess I want to quiet things down.
The se slip on's are suppose to be just a little louder than stock, and EPA approved.
Thanks for the replies....I had heard that Rush as well as V&H are pretty loud. An independant mechanic suggested SE's, but would like to hear them....
@kdfoster, I agree louder is not necessarily better - when you get them, would love to hear how they sound.

Rush makes different baffle sizes which allow you to control the noise level. As an example I have the 1.75 inch baffles which are about right in my opinion. My wife has 2.0 inch baffles and they are too loud for my tastes. They also make 1.5 inch baffles which might be perfect for you. Just a thought.
Thanks for the suggestions; I will definitely check them out....that being said I do prefer staggered pipes.
One local shop I stopped at suggested that while I am doing this, I should consider an upgraded air cleaner and a tune (presumably to provide more air and fuel). They said that a slightly richer mixture will lower the engine operating temperature (which is a good thing) and perhaps add a bit of power. Seems to be a good idea...yes?
Ive got screaming eagles but they aren't the shorties. Im happy with them overall. If you want more low tones I think the pipes need some length typically to generate that. Big diff over stock but not louder than most aftermarkets.
