Hello EVO guys , just bought my first evo ! I have already replaced the leaking primary gaskets and now I have noticed a pretty loud squeak/rub sound from my front end when I go over the slightest bump. It almost looks like my front fork upper cover is off a little , just wondering if any one else has had this problem.
Oh, and one more thing, can anyone suggest a good single fire after market ignition ?? thanks for the help !
There are 2 bolts that attach the cover. You may have to aut a washer under one to stop the rubbing. A friends bike has the same issue and that is how he solved it.
Why do you want to put a single fire ignition on your bike? What is wrong with the one you have on there now?
Thanks Tex ! I am looking to put a Dave Mackie cam in the motor , looking for an adjustable ignition to advance the rev-limiter and ignition timing to work with the cam. Or is a module a better idea ?

Harleys (I think) came with a rev limit of 5200 stock and most aftermarket will get you to 6000. To me there ain't enough difference there to really care about. If your motor is stock I would go with a SE 3 or a EV 27 cam. I have never heard of a Dave Mackie cam. The above cams are bolt in and are good all around cams.
He is an engine builder out of southern california. He builds some pretty nasty engines and has some world speed records with his motors. He built my friends 96 and that thing is a streetable monster !
