There are shims available for that, I did my front a couple years back. Bascily you tighten the axles down tight light normal and lock it in a vice and get a guage same as you use for runout on a crank and check endplay.

Where did you get your shims?

My dealers don't keep them in stock.

My local INDY. I do know my dealer has them to. That seems strange your shops don't have them

I thought it was strange too. 3 dealers told me they don't get too many calls for them.

On a side note, I put a torque wrench on the axle nut and found it to be 20lbs under. (it was 30 instead of 50).

It really didn't change the small amount of "play" though.

If I remember correctly the shim is
Behind the race so torquing won't make a difference.

I would just wait for a rainy day take the wheel off take the bearings out clean them and everything else in there Then you can check the bearings, races, spacers, shims
Then put it together on the bench dry no grease I check end play by feel it works for me
This way you will know what you need if anything
