When I first got my 95 FXDL it seemed like it needed to be jetted.... The Carb was never touched...The bike had SWE slip ons and stock air filter. So I orederd a carb kit from CV performance and a KN air filter I put a 46 pilot jet and a 185 main in and the bike runs great. I am changing out the exhaust to V&H short shots and the air cleaner to a Kury Mach 5.......so to end my long winded question....due you think I will need to adjust the jetting?
Probably not, however only an AFR gauge and a dyno will tell you for sure. Try it like it is first, then you may need to go up one step on the low speed.
John
I have a K&N air filter and V&H long shots with a 48/185. I just put the 185 in and it made a real difference. Runs really good now, before it was starving at freeway speed. I'd say try what you have first before changing anything.
Thanks for the replies!!!
I plan on getting it dyno'd in a few weeks..I was going to put a single fire ignition in and then let them tune it...but I need to save up a little more for it..I just want to make sure I won't hurt anything in the mean time
