Default seat mod

I have a 94 ultra and really didn't care for the stock seat. The problem I found is that there are not a ton of aftermarket options for older bikes not to mention if I'd like to avoidspending another $400. I found badx here on these forums and rode out to meet him this weekend and have him modify my seat. I have to say, it was well worth it! He did an awesome job. I went with the memory foam option and I'm thrilled with the results. Check him out at www.meancitycycles.com (edited to fix link)

The pricing at Mean City sure look good if it gets you what you are looking for. Just to give you something else to think about though, have a look at Corbin seats. My Ultra came with one or I probably would not have spent the money for an unknown. However, I will not be without one on any futher bike. My first comment was about howvery firmthe seat felt.Previous ownersaid " and thats how it will still feel at the end of the day, exactly like it feels now." I was very skeptical, but I can say it's true,8 hrs later the seat feels no different than at the start. No burn, pain, moving around after the first 45 min trying to find a comfortable spot. No they are not cheap, but well worth the $. Just something else to ponder.

I had a corbin on a previous bike and agree, it was a great seat. $100's of dollars difference though. I don't have enough time on my modified seat yet to compare the two but one thing that led me to the modification was the $ and the other was the lack of options for my 94 ultra.

Edit: Just looked up the corbin. For a 94 ultra, the dual tour is $699, to get a matching trunk rest, is another $499. I'm willing to try the mod for $85(including memory foam) to avoid spending $1200.
