Default Spanners Bites The Dust

So there I am riding through 30MPH zone in the winter sunshine and minding my own business when some silly woman in a little Mazda decides to turn into her driveway (across my bows) without looking.

I tried to take evasive action but it didn't work and I hit the front left wing of her car, flew over the handbars and landed on my right shoulder which was dislocated by the impact.

Dang that hurt!!!! The woman tried to tell me it was my fault as I lay there trying to work out how to stop the pain in my right arm and I said to her "This is not a good time to be arguing with me Mrs...you'd be better off understanding it was your fault, getting over it and calling an Ambulance".

She took that on board and before long there were 2 Fire trucks, 4 Cop cars an Ambulance and a Tow truck.....tow truck just happened to be passing...

Anyway, half a pint of Morphine later, they decide its a backwards dislocation (very rare) and put me under a general anaesthetic to put it back in.

Mrs Spanners brought me home and I went to bed, woke up around 3am needing to pee but my left ankle and right hip hurt so much I had to limp with both legs!!! Which isn't easy...

Feeling pretty grotty today and typing with my left hand only (I am right handed) is making posting this into a bit of a mission.

Anyway, the bike isn't too badly off and the local Indy (a guy I subcontract to....gearboxes mainly) is picking it up from my house to do the insurance quote.

Pics below:

Damn man I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.

I can relate. A few years back I broke my collarbone in 2 places, sprained the **** out of both ankles and turned the right side of my face into hamburger.

Hope you feel better soon.

In NZ you can't sue for damages, the Govt take care of all your healthcare needs, rehabilitation, walking sticks etc and my insurance will recover the money they spend on fixing my bike from her insurance.

I might go and burn her house down though....

That would cure anything short of death and I'm not sure it wouldn't cure that!
