ok so i finally got my bike on the road and the front rocker box just spews oil, ive replaced the rubber gaskets with both harley and james and torqued them down correctly they both were clean and DRY my next guess its got to much pressure ???? could the breather vent be blocked , its an 85 engine any ideas???
Yeah, put the rockrs on a piece of glass and see if they are flat.
Also, you might try putting some NAPA Aircraft Gasket Sealant stuff on both sides of the gaskets when you put it together. And make sure that the push rod tubes aren't leaking, as they can fool you too.
NOTE: There are at least TWO types and shapes of gaskets for the Evo Rocker boxes so make absolutly sure your using the right set. Check in the James Catalouge for your year etc.
mine did the same thing after putting it back together, mech told me to use permatex ultra grey, coat the surfaces, and orings, let them sit for 15 minutes and but together, hasnt leaked since.
A warped or mismatched rocker part... Also the notion of a warped middle or top rocker piece is well with in the realm of possibilities.

Check all three, although it is generally the middle one that is warped. If it has the slightest bit of wiggle, it won't seal no matter how tight you have the bolts.
Ya gotta trust me on this. I battled a rocker box leak for three years.
