1993 fxr...
Bronson, just curious. Why do you say it looks lie a FXLR? Engine color, shock height, and/or amount of chrome?

First off, Offer a grand less. That will go a long way in helping out the sting if you get any surprises. Bikes in general are not good at hiding their past because youcan see it all! Some will say that you can't see a rebuild and how well it was done. Well, you've got ears and nuts and bolts will give a history of how often they were wrenched. The owner tells a lot about the bike by just what they're like. YOu know what I mean... young squid with attitude or an old guy that's had the bike for 15 years... I know I'm generalizing, but it works... use your instincts! Don't fall in love with the bike, be critical. IF you still want it and you're suspect, offer taht much more less.
judging by the pics I'd say your scoot falls somewhere inbetween. looks good and is not original, but again, looks good. does she sound smooth? I'd buy sight unseen for 4k if it runs...lol. seriously.
good luck.

The only way to really tell if it's a good un is to try to take it out on a good run if the owner will let you, 92 Harley's changed from a Torrington bearings to the Inla which were apparently cheaper and said to be not as good find out if he's changed them back to Torringtons, gotta say though I had a 92 FXR for 13 years and didn't have a problem with the bearings.
Probably because of the solid rear wheel only FXLR were fitted with them, the tank looks like its from a convertible, so it could be either bike with either the tank or wheel fitted some after it was first purchased.
They are getting harder to find. I found one the other day that might go for cheep plus I like the faring. Its a little older with an S&S motor.

Sean what I did when you posted I did a search on 1993 harley fxr and studied the images. It looks like from your pictures it has the solid rear and spoke front wheels. That looks correct. Then when you look at it look at the motor for f'ed up bolts etc and that will tell if it was redone by someone that gave a hoot. Then ride it and see if it rides straight and doesn't pull either way. My 92 Fatboy I can ride hands free with out a worry. If you've never done this don't try on someone elses. I'm just telling my experience. I bet you get it like stated earlier offer 4000 and leave with it at 4500.
You never did tell how many miles actual. As for selling it after rebuild there are an assload of people out of work. just my .02 Kent

The tank with the fuel gauge was used on the FXRS-Convertible (I know, because I own one), the FXRS-SP, and certain variants of the FXRP (there are three).
The bike in question is a mish-mash of different parts, and the only way to positively identify which variant of the FXR it actually is would be to get the 5th and 6th letter of the VIN.
