Ester has had mis-matched lowers since I got her going. I got a fiberglass "early" lower with the fairing, and found a black ABS one for a decent price, so that I had 2.
Well....this morning I won the bid on a MATCHING set of black ABS lowers, that look to be brand new for under $300 bucks (they are $680 from HD). Of course I will offset the purchase by selling my present lowers. Now if I can only find a left glove box.....I'd be good.
Heck...with all the new shiney black parts I'm finding for good prices, and selling off the old parts. I'm only gunna have to paint the fuel tank!
I joked that when I bought my bike new each blue part was a different shade. Sounds as if Esther may be heading the same way!
I just realised I spent her name wrong, sorry about that. After a favourite elderly aunt, as it happens!
I discovered a few days ago that our tank decals are no longer available, so I have been searching for them deep into the bowels of the inter-thingey. Finally found a pair, with great relief,so I can paint my 'new' tank in a suitable way.
Now Lump, with a name like that you must expect brickbats, when making a comment like that!
The Esther I know was a beautiful lady I can assure you and Hyacinth's are beautiful shrubs. I have American relatives and one family has three daughters, who I won't name here, but they have all been given surnames, instead of proper girl's Christian names (the family is religious). Truly ugly names, poor little things. The most I can do is to find beauty in my old bike!
