you can get the same fairing lowers from the fairing factory themselves on ebay. and they will come complete with the caps and the gloveboxes and the hardware. sure they're a little more pricey, but you're gonna have to buy those anyway.
now,if you're bike is vivid black, you can get a fairly decent deal. however, if you're bike is a color, then you've got to factor in the cost to prep and paint. that will bump up the cost considerably.
or you could just go through one of the discounters and buy the hd vented fairing lowers, color matched to your bike and not worry about it. i've actually seen where buying the hd version was cheaper than buying the fairing factory knockoffs and paying for paint. through a discounter, my denim black ran $480. the vivid black and other colors were about $520.
What happened to make me search was the fox I hit at 6:00 yesterday morning. ( I did NOT know they got that big...) Blew the right lower to pieces and bent the crash bar back 3 inches.
So I already have the glove boxes, caps and mounting hardware, and my lowers are black to start with. Given all that, it seemed like a no brainer for me given that it would literally be a bolt on application in my situation.
I was just hoping to find out if the vacuum molding was up to snuff, if it fit correctly, etc. I know CT Bagger is absolutey correct as a policy, but just maybe once in awhile....
Thanks guys, What happened to make me search was the fox I hit at 6:00 yesterday morning. ( I did NOT know they got that big...) Blew the right lower to pieces and bent the crash bar back 3 inches.
Actually went past it yesterday after work and probably should have taken a pic, ( he was very dead.)
Dark reddish brown fur with a very "fox-like" head. Wife showed me some pics from Audoban Society and the closest thing was an Alaskan Fox, but at 35 lbs(!)? it can't be here in NC.
Maybe it was a wild dog that mated with a fox, ( her suggestion,) I dunno'.
( Knocked the right speaker loose out of the fairing too....)
