Describe the miss - is it a rough idle, misfiring gently under load, backfiring/coughing/dying when you give it ANY throttle, intermittent breakup at steady throttle?

If it's a stock (dual-fire) ignition, switch that spark plug leads, and see if the problem follows the plug wires.

If you don't know - then tell us how many skinny wires are going to your ignition coil. If you've got 2 skinny wires, and 2 plug wires, it's a dual-fire ignition. If you've got 3 skinny wires, it's a single fire and my suggestion to swap plug wires on the coil posts won't work.

I had that problem, ended up being a loose positive battery cable

I am going with ignition too, out here in AZ in summer heat my bike still hates me. Anyone have and idea of running with ignition cover off is a good or bad idea?
