Been hanging around since July when I got my bike. Got a 95 Road King and been loving it. Plan on riding all winter too, but have spent more time riding and changing things up and lurking than posting.
But i've got a problem now....
Got on the bike this morning and after gearing up and letting it warm up in the driveway, it wouldn't go. It acts like it's going into gear but when i let out the clutch nothing happens. Just wouldn't go. So I had to push it back into the garage... I really don't know much about these bikes, so i'm stuck. Have some friends that might know, but thought i would take this time to introduce myself and throw it out there.
Anyway, here's the bike when i bought it and where it sits now.
Had a leaky front fork when i bought it so i went ahead and sent a bunch of stuff off to the powder coater while it was broken down.
Don't think the belt is broken. And no noises or anything, just won't go. Clutch is still firm... Didn't get to spend a lot of time with it. Just had to strip off the gear and get in the truck and head to work.
gotta check a few things.... start with your pawl adjustment, peek inside your side cover and see if your throwout bearing is bad... then i'd look directly at your clutch, spring might be gone
Got to pay it a little more attention last night. There is noise coming from the primary. Clutch is still firm, acts like it's going in and out of gear. Neutral light is going on and off. But i can push it while it's in gear as well. So something inside is broken. I didn't open it up though. What are the main culprits?
Do you have a manual yet? There are on-line download sources available I'm sure someone will be along soon to info you about. There are also other sources, such as... http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_...506.m270.l1313 Wish I could have helped more. Good Luck!
If it was the clutch the neutral light wouldnt be flashing in and out
that is a no------------on the clutch is what I have said .the clutch has NOTHING to do with the position of the shift rails--------------------no wonder you east coast guys get pissed at me my midwest dialect is unable to be understood
