I've got the stock pipes on my 88. I'm thinking I'd like it a little louder, not a lot, just a little. What should I be looking for? I'm going to a swap meet in December, so I might look for something, but I know nothing, absolutely nothing about pipes. Any and all suggestions appreciated.
Twinkie pipes bolt right on our bikes and are better built. If you still have the stock exhaust on yours, your choices ar limited. If you convert to twinkie, your choices are endless.
Ok, are they longer or shorter than mine? The guy before me wanted to put some longer pipe on so he took a hacksaw to my exhaust.......he cut off about 1-1 1/2". I can still get the stock pipes on, barely. So if those twin cam pipe are shorter, they won't work.

I have an aftermarket 08 system on my 1990 bike, with the O2 ports blanked. In other words all systems up to 06, as MK described, are a straight bolt on, up to 08 need blanking plugs.
Your stock pipes have a flared tip, where the mufflers join and special clamps - the mufflers fit inside the pipes. Later pipes have plain ends and the mufflers fit over the pipes, which will take any current aftermarket mufflers.
