I have a 1982 Sturgis and recently removed the carburetor
to clean and re-jet. While holding it the accelerator pump rod fell off. I for the life of me can't figure how to put the darn thing back on the throttle control. Can anyone either describe or better yet post a picture of how it fits on.
Yeah, stock that would have been a terrible POS Keihin. Hopefully, someone dumped that decades ago.
Moar Pics so we can help.
Hey, I dumped the POS S&S & put a stock Kehin on my 82 FXE and it ran great - as opposed to before when it ran like **** with the S&S. Those Kehins are great little carbs.
A couple of years later, I sold the bike for twice what I paid for it because it was factory stock by then. Bought it for $6000, put about $1000 into it to return it to stock configuration, and sold it for $12,000.
Bolting a bunch of aftermarket crap onto a stock (if that's what it is) Sturgis would be nuts!
