Well I sure in the hell hope you ride the **** out of her! Ive been told a cross country trip is the best way to break in a motor....

Appears from your picture in C31 and your picture in C78 that C31 was just a quick hone swipe to give you a visualization and justify what repair shop was telling you was needed. Sounds like a upfront guy and appears he did a good job on the finial finish.

I took it apart last night and WOW was that thing clean (on the inside).

Gave it a quick blast of carb cleaner and slapped it back together.
