Well came across a sporty that was too sweet to pass up. 2001xl 1200 that has been totally redone. Completely polished motor, 97inch axtell big bore kit, weisco 10.5:! pistons, andrews .693 cam, adjustable push rods, with P&P heads stainless valves with a 7 angle valve job and heads have been v channeled at valves. Bike has been totally reworked from front to back. Custom exhaust with a Metzler me880 240mm on a weld racing rear and a avon on the 21" sturgis front. Three inch rake with .50 difference from rear. All that under 4000 and a little hot tongue and cold shoulder from the OL.
Great day
Sweet....I'll race ya to the bar, you have nothing to loose anyways and you now have the perfect bike for it....LOL
For me, something like that would translate into new granite kitchen counter tops a tile floors...It's only money, they print more every day...Really like the new ride, totally different and looks like it will scream...

Yeah she has quite a bit of giddy-up (the bike that is) OL is fine she knows its a addiction and we cant help it besides she can reach the ground on this one Little different then my true love, me and my 85 will be with me till the end. Yeah Doug she is a little hopper for sure the whiskey will numb the pain in the back, looser buys LOL. For now it sits in the shed, I am in the middle of upgrading the bagger to Progressive suspension, kind of ironic when you think never did till now huh
Those Axtell aluminum big bore kits are expensive and don't think they offer them anymore, they were in the $1200 range years ago.
The grooves you mentioned, I know of a procedure called Singh grooves that are cut into the flat side of the head that is supposed to channel trapped gases back to the spark plug, did the owner give you any info on the cut channels and location?
Another thread was talking about having big ***** to ride a Vespa on a interstate, that doesn't compare to this pocket rocket, you would have to haul your nuts in a dump truck to stay on the throttle through 4 gears. A helmet cam would be nice for your first full throttle adventure so we know it looks like when your saying
