motor identtification

hey guys new to the harley experience. jusr purchased a ground pounder with a evo motor. didn't think it would be a problem to figure out the year, my mistake. i'm sure it's not but can't find it. the vin has the *'s on either end of the vin? can any one direct me to a site for this info.

thks big help still a little confusing it has the *then i think it's ELLH115574* but it says to look at the 11th # wich i don't have?
(by the way the thread on the relay was great.)

H is 1987

It is kinda confusing
