I been trying ti get read of the solid rear wheel on my 94 softail , My son got me a rear spoke wheel from a 00 wide glide 3/4 axel my sprocket does'nt fit nor does the roter any ideas besides buying new parts , I'am on a fixed income & this prez see's fit not to give us a raise in a few years now & now the oboma care has gone up so month check is lighter then before
I put a solid wheel on my 85 FXWG back in 1987. I recently wanted to go back to spokes, but I had sold the original wheel long ago. I bought a whole new spoked rear wheel for $125. It fits with no issues. That would be easier, and cheaper, than trying to make something else fit.
If anyone wants a softail custom solid rear wheel let me know. It has been polished smooth (no rough textured center) and chrome plated. No issues with it I just wanted to go back to old skool look of spokes. It came off a 1987 softail custom, but if fit my 1985 FXWG perfectly.
You want a wheel with tapered roller bearings. That '00 wheel has ball-races that are larger in OD and the housings they fit in are also larger, which is why your pulley and rotor won't fit on them.
