And at 200k you will have spent about 200 bucks more if you are using 10 dollar throw away filters, assuming that the replacable filter lasts that long.
200 bucks might seem like a big savings until you figure that the bike will consume about 16 grand worth of fuel...
You would do better by keeping a good air filter on the bike and checking the tire pressure...

Plus about a half a can of break clean to wash em out.
They might just assume the "lifetime" of your bike will be less, after all what type of statement is that could mean 2-20yrs. The odds of cleaning out all the micro particles is slim never mind cleaner used and time I could be don't see any savings myself.
Owns the aftermarket industry? How did you come to that conclusion?
Their sales are probably a drop in the bucket compared to Fram.
And as far as aftermarket for Harley, I would bet that HD sells more filters than any aftermarket company.
Although I have been using Wix filters, the newest ones I got were made in Mexico, so once those are gone it will be HD filters for my bikes.
No cleanable oil filters for me, I have enough to do already. If I had a filter that needed to be cleaned, I would probably extend the oil change interval just because it is no longer a simple process.
We used to use cleanable oil filters on jet engines, but I haven`t seen one for at least 30 years.

The one in my 52 Studebaker Champion back in WV gave it 20 more HP. If it had been 25 I probably wouldn't be here today. Now that was a car. Great back seat for a 17 year old at the drive in theater. At 50K it was smoking like a coal train but still ran. Left it setting on side of the road when I went to the big city in 66 to build boats. Lot of cars did not have filter then. My 46 Chevy truck doesn't have one. In all seriousness those 0-rings are not going 100K but few Harley's do anyway. Looks pretty. It's OK, I would just replace the internal element. Just tell them it's worn out and you want them to honor warranty. How can they say it's not.?
