pan replica
We built an S&S powered 93" "bobber" about 15 years ago as a run around shop bike.
3 5/8" bore x 4 1/2" stroke vibrated way more the the comparable 96" S&S Evo motor we had in another build. Tons of torque though! Had a pretty cool open belt with a 4 speed kicker and electric start.
By the time we were done we had close to $7,000 in that motor as I recall.
Comparing the 2 motors though, I wouldn't do it again.

Those knuckleheads look almost tiny compared to the newest twinkies. I do have to appreciate the look of a Pan, Shovel and Knuckle, even the Ironhead was alright too but then the blockhead came out followed by the equally uninspiring Twin Cam. At leas the Evo was built for go if not for show.
So, you put that motor in, and what do you have? A replica? A tribute? nah, you just have a fake. For that kind of money you can have the real deal. Runnin' an Evo isn't anything to hide or be ashamed of. It's not like it's a Twinkie.
I hear ya. I think the OP admitted as much, maybe just thinking out loud. If you have a bike free and clear you will still have about $10k into it to make a fake. A used and chopped to the ***** Pan sells for less than $9000 all day, an original condition one will sell for over 30 thousand.
