If you want to eliminate most of the normal leakdown, air up with nitrogen. Seeps out much slower and almost no volume change with temperature change.

Take a hack saw and cut the tire, drain out the stuff....Not rocket science...

I haven't used any fix-a-flat in my bike tires, but I do carry one of the palm sized 12v compressors and a set of tire plugs in my bags. I've used it once three yrs. ago on the road, plugged the small nail hole and it was aired up and running in less than 20 min. Rode that tire for another 1500 miles before replacing it. Don't know how kosher that was, but it sure was efficent and didn't seem to cause any problems

I have an older 12v compressor I carry in my truck. It runs fine off the truck battery, but my bike battery won't do it. Guess I need a newer one, just didn't want to waste the money for one if it wasn't going to work. A can of mess sounds easier though.

There are at least two types of tyre mess available now! One that is put in with say a new tyre, and just sloshes around while riding or driving, then fills punctures as they happen. Then there is the stuff we squirt in after a puncture. Choices, choices.....

Most tire changers would appreciate if you tell them it is in there, so they can take precautions not to get it all over themselves.
