Ive always loved dynas but aparently there wasnt enough change in my pocket to buy one so i got a sporty and im in between an evo or a newer big twin ...i Love the sound of bikes with a carb in it ....i will NEVER ride with EFI...what are some good year evos to look for? I have an 06 sporty right now
I have a 98 FXD that has been very good to me. I've read over and over that the last few years of the EVO motors were the best.
My next bike will be another EVO. I can work on the motor, no real electronics, parts are a plenty and I like the EVO sound. Plus the bikes themselves are more affordable. Lots of 5-6 thousand dollar EVO big twins to be found for sale.
The twincams up to 2005 IIRC came with carbs. My 2003 FXDXT had one and was fine, after I lowered the gearing on it! So you can own a carb dyna, one way or the other!
to badyourwa y up there in the north land , there's a real nice 97 Dyna here in SE Texas c list with real low miles Houston under Harley he's asking 5800
I bought a 96 FXDL, 3 years ago, less than 14000 miles on it, for $5600 & have enjoyed the hell out of it. Not good for 2 up, long distance rides, but a light bike, & fun to ride. Had to replace stator on it, last year, but that's the only problem I have had. Has a lot of my own personal touch on her.
Ride safe,
Harold
