Default ring gear question

I have a 99 heritage stage 3, it eats starter clutches and now the ring gear. what would be the best ring gear to put in.

Try the low-ratio conversion, it takes the load off the starter train....or go stock and fit compression releases.

Ate a few of them before, currently running a Allsballs starter, HD battery and there is a ring gear between the stock fine tooth and thick tooth older ring gear, can't remember the name brand but this combo has been in for 7 years. Add some bigger cables too as it seems damage is caused by slower revolutions from a voltage drops and a newer battery helps

Did you change the engine pulley???? If you went smaller you are putting a bigger load on the starter.

I went with the 10/84 ring gear. You have to drill out the rivets in the clutch basket, but it is simple to do. Haven't had any issues like I did with the stock gears.
