Rare I don't know about. I have about 15 for sale here locally from 3500-9000 for the fxr4. Good bikes? Yes! If it were me I would go over that thing with a fine tooth comb before I bought it (leak down, compression, trans check, bushings, everything) or if you don't know how to do that stuff take it to a shop for a once over. I wouldn't buy it though if he did not have the receipts or records from the trans rebuild and new motor
FXLR one of my faves of all HD. Factory rebuild, good to go. I would strip all the crap off that bike and make a solo hot rod. At your size it will feel like a sporty. I have built 4 0r 5 FXRs, They are Fast and handle like a sport bike. The price is not out of line for a classic. You can do anything, from a street tracker to a bobber to a chopper. My last FXR would wheelie like a sport bike. I will add another to my collection, sold my 92 for $8k last year, there is a cult for the FXR. Good luck.
I would seriously look at the Yellow FXR4 in New England.Very low miles ,very nice shape, and very stock. All that for a really nice asking price.Hope it is still available.Boston C-LIST IF i REMEMBER RIGHT.yELLLOW MY LEAST FAVORITE COLOR FOR A BIKE BUT CONSIDERING THE HERITAGE OF THE THING VERY VERY NICE.mODERN DUAL DISC TOO.OOPS didn't mean to yell but not typing this again.
I have been at meets with hundreds of bikes, mine was the only FXR. Main street Daytona, my wife counted 5 FXRs. A good clean bike will gain value, They don't make em anymore, and never will. If i could find a bone stock low milage FXLR i will pay $10,000. Any out there???
