Compression test
Now that you have the basic procedure down pat. you can also add a few more steps to give you more info., if desired.
After doing the initial comp. test and recording the results , you can squirt a shot or two of oil into the sparkplug holes then do the test again .
The oil will temporarely seal the rings as if it were a new motor with no miles on it. Record your results and compare them with the initial test results.
Another thing to do is to actually time how long it takes for each cylinder to acheive max. pressure. Record these values also and let us know what numbers you have come up with .
Note: You can purchase a decent screw in type comp. tester for approx. 40-50 bucks. Dont rent tools you will probably again use later , rent only the tools you hope you will only need once.

Ok sounds good. I'm installing new tappet rollers and cam bushings/seals first due to a noise I'm hearing somewhere within that area, but as soon as its back together ill let you guys know. Thanks again
