got a question need help took bike in to fix tranny problem mechanics remove oil bag to take top end of tranny off . when i rode bike from shop to my pad decided to change oil , when i drained oil not even 1qt came out im thinking they drained it out when they were going into tranny and never filled it . asked mechanic of course he saidhe filled it up, scared to even ride it now im hoping my engine aint jacked up . it turns on but dont know if anything is screwed up internally any answers
My mechanic said one quart low is no problem at all.. If you didn't ride verry long, I wouldn't worry about it.. The EVO is pretty much bullet proof...
My Brother had 129,000 on his FLHTC before it needed
a rebuild. It was still running, but smoked pretty bad.
He finally caved in and had it done over. I insisted on
getting an EVO bike and recently bought a 98 FXDS
with low miles. I'm pretty **** about maintenance and
am expecting 100,000 out of my bike before it needs
a rebuild. I'll have some time to figure out what
cam/crank/piston/head/etc I'll put in her then..

Over 90,000 miles on my 1991 FXRS-Conv. Cylinder base gaskets twice, rocker box gaskets, and nothing else. Runs great, plenty of power with S&S Super E carb, Python III pipes,DynaTech 2000 ignition, and Andrews cam & lifters. Uses absolutely no oil. Thanks, Amsoil.
65 .000 miles on my 96 fxdl, engine never opened,no smoke or leaks.Use amsoil and recently SEsynthetic, seems it runs better ,but it might be just my imagination.I was told by my buddy w/great experience it's just half life of this engine.Mat
