150,000+ on an '85 FXRS. Never been into the tranny, never been into the bottom, same valves, piston, rings.
Don't smoke, runs fine.
Replaced the clutch at 90,000, rest of the primary, original.
Would cross the country on it tomorrow.
She don't even leak oil (and YES, there is oil in it!)
Treat it right, it'll last a long, long time.

I have a friend with 360,000 miles on his 1987 electra glide! He pulled the motor still running at 200,000-sold it,put in a fresh motor.
Scotty (Thats my friend) spent an entire winter rebuilding the bike,bearings and all. Believe it or not,last I talked with him he was looking for a used frame. He showed me that he could grab his motor and shake it sideways. He figures he wore out the frame-who knows.
