Will and EVO motor go? I'm at 96K and see no reason why it shouldn't go another 25k to 50k with good care. I had to pull the rear jug when I got it at 93K to repair a pulled stud and the piston and cylinder mic'ed within spec, although on the loose side.
My motor had 100k before it was pulled down to do cam and lifters, both of which were well worn. The heads need rebuilding due to broken valve inserts but the piston and rings were original. The pistons were replaced with 10 thou over because the bore was scored. In saying all that it still rode well and no major noises. The bottom end was untouched. By the way how many miles will the gearbox do ?

Lol, I have seen them wasted at 40K and still sweet at 150K and in varying states at any mileage in between....like anything, it comes down to maintenance.
My Wide Glide had new bearings at 70K due to the tranny output bearing whining.
i was busting you - BUT - the bearings i see going away first is the 2 on the door Right side
than the primary timkin some bikes its an issue some its not / some bikes the race goes away some never -
if i take the unit out we always replace the shift stay spring and seal
the 4 plastic bearing roller holders if we pull it i do those as they are real cheap
all thats left is the Big main ball bearing L/S and the counter shaft closed end timkin in the case -- and the shift drum bearing < never seen one bad
as a safty issue i would save up the money buy them all and do it the off season - i would also replace the shift forks the sides wear off as the rollers on the 4 plastic bearings become worn --
having said all of that if it shifts fine and does not make noize than - its up to you - johnjzjz
My '94 EVO started weeping oil at the bottom of the jugs at about 55K due to a HD poor gasket when assembled at the factory. My indy told me it was very common and that they should be replaced but it wouldn't be necessary to rebuild the motor but that was up to me. Don't know if this helps.
I know...mines all good, the PO did some bearings on the primary side not long ago when the clutch was replaced. The oil looked good when it was changed with spectron after the top end was done.
