Replace headlight?
Do you ride at night? If you do, there are several alternatives to the sealed beam that are so much better they will have you asking yourself why you didn't make the switch sooner.
Brighter light for starters. Even just switching to a halogen H4 will give you more light. HID and LED lights give even more light and greatly reduce the current draw.
I question if the HID lights will reduce current draw. I maintain it is the same. I've looked at specs for these things. They all say "35W" but that's the output of the ballast, not the input, which is what I'm trying to minimize. I have HID lights (conversion) on my Elise, and next time I'm in there, I'm going to measure the current on the low beam. My money is that it will be real close to a regular H4 or sealed beam bulb, around 55W, say 4.3 amps. The LED's, though, are definitely lower current draw.
If you get the trucklite LED yes
On the forgazi $35 eBay HID kits your high beam is a tiny halogen bulb that will fake out an inspector looking on a grid 12 paces from the wall it's mounted on. The low beam is where all the magic is.
Finally got around to it, easy fix. Headlight is actually still good. Just loose wire connection. If everything else is this darn simple, I might just wrench on this thing myself?
