Default Airflitration!

OK! so.... Im dumping my hypercharger.. **waiting for the round of applause**

I'm looking at the RSD Turbine air cleaner. Thoughts? Advice?

My bike runs awesome now... (with the hyper charger) based on what my mech. said, it will only run better with a open air filter system.
Thoughts?

He also said that considering the bike runs great with the HyperCharger then most likely I'll just have to bolt on the new airfilter and ride. (he is under the assumption that I already have a stage one kit based on the performance and the fact that I have NO issues with the hypercharger.
(other then the fact that I can't ride in the rain!)

Ive considered other brands as well, and I'm open for discussion as to what is recommended.

please chime in!

Oh,
1340 Evo, Stock harley carb,

LOL! well thank you.,

Now can someone please enlighten me as what I will gain before I shell out $400?
will there be a performance gain? will the engine run cooler? what am I getting for my hard earned cash rather then just switching out my Hypercharger for a open air system?

Why exactly are you wanting to toss your hypercharger? What are you hoping to benefit?

I don't think the RSD will be any better in the rain than the Hypercharger, but with the RSD being even more open than your hyper, I would think it would be even worse in the rain. Some may disagree.

I'm fairly certain that would block all air from entering the hyper-charger.

If you have ever ridden in the rain with a bandana over your nose and mouth you would understand.

Or in essence you would be waterboarding your intake!!!!

I've heard the the Hyper-Charger is a POS. Assuming that the H-C was giving you maximum air flow, then the only thing you will be trading is appearance. If the change gives you more air intake, then you may need to tweek your tune.

I'm running the Arlen Ness Big Sucker in the rain with no problems.

More airflow isn't always a good thing. If you don't have the mods to support it, specifically cubic inches, you can easily reach a point of diminshing returns. Worse yet it can actually hurt your performance. For maximum performance you want a balanced system, not just more airflow.
