I disagree, run a vehicle with straight open carbs and see if it doesn't change the way the vehicle burns. Further, run with an open carb and open exhaust and see how it changes. You can easily over flow an engine, creating an overly lean condition. You can richen that lean condition by changing the jets, but there again, without adequate mods to the engine, you will simply throw more air/fuel into the chamber than it can burn.
Sorry Slammed, but the bank is closed for a little while... check back later..
I did however come across what appeared to be a vacuum line coming off the carb and was plugged into a spot on the HC that controlled the butterfly's. Considering that the hose sucks just enough to open the butterfly's and that's really it, I decided too blocked it off at the end of the hose and tucked it away.
Thoughts?
With such a small amount of suction operating the flaps I cant see it hurting anything by blocking it off.
Final results were good though, been really noticing that it gets up and goes a bit more (if that makes any sense)... Not saying there was any real "power" gain, but it certainly has a bit more pick up.. No carb adjustments were needed.... ran nice and smooth, no back fire, no decel pop... installed very easy... I'm quite pleased...
