Default Top End Rebuild Parts & Pieces

Hey Guys,

I’m beginning to collect the needed parts & pieces for a top end rebuild on my ’96 Springer. Not doing anything wild here, just freshening things up due to leaking base gaskets.

Concerning new tappets / lifters … any issues going with Revtech … or other recommendations?

The EBay link is attached:

Thank you

I know squat about Rev Tech but I recommend these...

Upgraded my 84 FLH with this set up and am very pleased. Around Xmas time they usually have a sale and if you go to their site they have sets that are usable but have a blemish to them (no affect on performance or reliability).

As far as gaskets...I highly recommend Cometic. Top end kit is a C-note, but is well worth it. Used Cometic for the top end on the 84 FLH, top end on my 88 Heritage and doing the same for my 49 EL.

Thank you for the lifter info, I will look into that.

Yes, I am definitely going with Cometic gaskets.

Planning new rings for the stock pistons … assuming the cylinders do not require boring.
